Epilogue

The wind howled through the streets of the upper Nexus District, Jarod, stood hunched in the doorway of the grand cathedral, whose doors were locked, trying to stay safe. He had come down to study the stylings of religious art for the week before returning to school at the Nextian Academy of Inchemy.

The swells of the water kept rising higher and higher in the river threatening to overcome its bounds. A long car with omni-directional wheels pulled up and a man in a smart black suit rushed to the side door to reveal a young man with black hair and covered in intricate green and gold robes.

“Hurry with my umbrella or you will be damned to the Great Hell Above.”

The man in the suite quickly brought it out and held it up for who Jarod could only assume was the Great Saint a young man only 23, newly appointed at the beginning of the year.

The water began to overflow the shore onto the road as the Great Saint stepped out of the car. Then there was a lull in the storm in which the Great Saint walked proudly to the steps, then the lull ended, and water rushed sweeping into the car causing it to spin. Seeing that it was headed for the Great Saint Jarod jumped forward, seized the Great Saint, and pulled him up the stairs. The great saint grew red in the face and was about to start yelling when he saw the car smash into his helper in the smart suit and drag him against the concrete for ten feet peeing skin from bone.

The Great Saint then calmed himself and stated, “You have just saved my life, for your service you have just provided to me and Nextian working as the Guardian’s hands I confer Sainthood on you.”

“What… oh… thank you.” Jarod stammered. The Great Saint merely nodded then unlocked the Cathedral doors.
